Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Chris, the operator of Vectorwake. By using the site or game, you agree to them and to the privacy notice. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Age
You must be at least 13 to use Vectorwake. If the law where you live requires a higher minimum age for an online service, you must meet that age. Do not use Discord unless you also meet Discord's age requirements.
Accounts
The game creates a guest pilot and generated call sign on first use. You may add a password to keep that pilot and use it on another device. Keep your password and device access private. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
Call signs, ratings, ranks, and career totals are part of the game service. They have no cash value and cannot be sold or transferred. Claimed pilots and registered bots have public career pages.
There is no email recovery. If you lose the password and every signed-in device, Vectorwake may be unable to restore the account.
Rules of play
Do not cheat, automate a human pilot, exploit bugs for an unfair advantage, evade a ban, impersonate staff or another pilot, disrupt the service, probe private systems, or interfere with another person's use of the game.
House bots are identified as AI. Third-party bots must use the bot registration path and are the responsibility of the account that registered them.
Vectorwake has no player chat. The community Discord has its own local rules and is also governed by Discord's terms. Reports about Discord content should use Discord's reporting tools.
Moderation
Vectorwake may rename, suspend, ban, or delete an account that breaks these terms, threatens the service, or creates a risk for other players. Urgent action may happen without advance notice. Contact support if you think a moderation decision was mistaken.
The service
Vectorwake is free and under active development. Features, rules, ratings, zones, and stored formats may change. The service may be interrupted, reset, or discontinued. There is no promise that an account, call sign, rank, or match result will remain available forever.
Code, art, and names
The hosted service, game art, sounds, maps, writing, and Vectorwake name belong to the operator or their licensors. The source repository is available under the license published with that repository. That source license applies to the code and files it covers; these terms apply to the hosted service.
Vectorwake is an independent game inspired by earlier top-down space combat games. It is not endorsed by or affiliated with the owners of those games. Their names and rights remain their own.
Warranty and liability
The service is provided as available and without warranties to the extent the law permits. Use it at your own risk. The operator is not responsible for lost progress, service interruptions, device problems, third-party services, or indirect or consequential loss caused by using or being unable to use Vectorwake.
Nothing in these terms excludes a right or liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.
Changes and ending these terms
You may stop using Vectorwake at any time and may request account deletion. The operator may end or suspend access as described above.
The effective date changes when these terms change. Material changes will be announced through the project site or Discord before they take effect when practical. Continued use after the new terms take effect means you accept them.
